The student suggestion of the week is written by Juliet A.
Juliet discusses an inconvenience when clicking on a link in webmail from a teacher or counselor that directs them to a new website on the same tab, causing them to lose the original tab's content. She suggests that links should direct to new tabs to save time and make the process more efficient.
Many links will open into a new tab if it's coursework, so that's neat! Usually, this is called "student suggestions" but today I have a "tech tip" for you instead!

Our student suggestion of the week is written by Ella C.
Ella suggests that students should be allowed to pitch club ideas that teachers can review for appropriateness and viability.
There is already a process set in place in most schools for student-made or -led clubs-- just like brick-and-mortar! You should get your club approved by staff/faculty before trying to find a teacher to be the club adviser. It helps to know if your idea will pass or not before you set things in place!

A behind the scenes look
Curating Ideas for solutions is a pretty fast process, but that doesn‘t mean its easy... which is why my desk looks like a mini apocalypse.
I have the most fun posting them because I get to see fellow teammates and peers used the recommendations I give to better their academic careers! Sometimes it could be as small as letting them fix a tab, or as big as getting them into code because I offered a solution that‘s more tech-heavy than I let on! It‘s amazing that such a small role on a wide-spread newsletter can do.
Which is why I wanted such a monumental role in the first place, as a returning student of about 4 maybe 5 years, it‘s what kept me going.
(This is for all the future students, you guys rock!)

In celebration of black history month
As we celebrate Black History Month, let's honor the resilience, achievements, and contributions of the Black community. This month is a poignant reminder of the struggles faced and the triumphs achieved, highlighting the richness of a diverse heritage. Let's stand united in acknowledging the indomitable spirit that has shaped history and continues to inspire generations. May this month foster understanding, appreciation, and unity, as we strive for a future where equality and justice prevail for all.
“ If you really think about it, if we begin to teach history exactly the way that it happened - good, bad, ugly, no matter what - I believe that we're going to find that we are closer, more connected than we are apart. “ Ruby Bridges
